It is a undergraduate program with 4-year duration which will confer Bachelor Degree of Education after graduation. The program aims to prepare students to be inter-disciplinary talents as follows: Have good ideological and moral quality and solid professional foundation; possess advanced special education ideology and strong practical ability in the educational and instructional activities; qualify for and love teaching; be capable of engaging in education, rehealthy training and related research for exceptional children in all levels of various special schools, education institutions, rehabilitation facility, special education resource centers, special education resource room in common schools, civil administration and Disabled Federation etc.
The students of this major, through the studying of the basic theory of special education,, professional skill training on special education, should be equipped with the basic ability of teaching, rehealthy training and research for special children. Its main courses include: Principle of Pedagogy; Introduction to Special Education; Educational Psychology; Psychology of Exceptional Child; Medical Foundation for Exceptional Child; Measurements and Diagnosis in Exceptional Children’s Psychology; Psychological Counseling and Guidance for Exceptional Children; Gesture Language; Braille; Auxiliary Instrument and Technology for Special Education; Arts Education for Exceptional Children.
