It is a undergraduate program with 4-year duration which will confer Bachelor Degree of Education after graduation. The program aims to prepare students to be inter-disciplinary talents as follows: have good ideological and moral quality; possess high educational theoretical attainment and strong practical teaching ability; be capable of engaging in teaching, research and management in normal schools, primary and secondary schools, institutes of Education Sciences and educational executive organizations at various levels etc.
The students of this major mainly study the basic theory and knowledge of Education Sciences, get training on educational scientific research and master of the ability of education and teaching. Its main courses include: General Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Educational Psychology, Introduction to Education, Teaching Theory, Curriculum Theory, Principles of Moral Education, Sociology of Education, History of Chinese Education, Foreign History of Education, Educational Measurement and Evaluation, and Educational Management etc. The training mode of General Education + Professional Basic Education + Professional Education is adopted for Pedagogy major. This major now offers 3 education directions, including school education, primary Chinese education and primary mathematics education. Students will have the main courses of the major in the fist academic year and select one direction as their specialized course as per personal interest and social demands.
